The Flyers discussed various superstitions we say in Britain such as “If you break a mirror, seven years of bad luck will follow” and “If a black cat walks towards you, it will bring good fortune”. They then wrote some fantastic stories, one of which we posted on our Facebook page to share with everyone: “The Killer of Piergiorgio”. Our Flyers have some very vivid imaginations and can write very humorous things in English!

The Movers went on an adventure to discover an endangered species living inside Englishland. “The species is usually standing up and is often speaking very loudly. It is not dangerous when calm, but if it catches you, you had better watch out!” After deciding that the endangered species was one of our Englishland teachers, we sneaked into the classroom to observe her and describe her actions using the present continuous tense and shared our observation notes with the rest of the group.

The Starters have almost perfected the alphabet song and Viola did a fantastic job of helping the teacher ensure everybody pronounced the letters in the correct way! They learnt how to express what they can and can’t do and what their favourite animals can and can’t do. Everyone had to convince Riccardo that hippos CAN swim, but cats definitely CAN’T sing, Marco! Although, it was fun thinking about what the world would be like if animals could or couldn’t do certain actions!

The Bubble Guppies worked on their song about fruit this week and pretended to be in a very elegant restaurant just like the Bubble Guppies in the episode “A Grumpfish Special”. They set the table and ordered from their menus asking the waiter “Can I have … please?” Cake proved to be a very popular choice and Martina exclaimed that she would like lots of cake!

I Flyers si sono confrontati su piccole superstizioni presenti in Inghilterra come "If you break a mirror, seven years of bad luck will follow" e "If a black cat walks towards you, it will bring good fortune".
